A Result of Other Densification Issues.....
The issue of overcrowding in some Metro Vancouver Schools and declining enrolment in others may be a direct result of the cost of housing. It may also simply be the result of patterns of densification-greater populations in certain areas result in a concentration of people living in certain urban areas because of work, transportation, etc. Regardless of the reason WHY, we know that the issue of school enrolments come up often and yearly as new students enrol in school, and school boards need to make decisions about their budgets. The Issue

Because it is often more affordable to buy or rent a home in Surrey, certain areas are seeing an increase in student enrolment and as a result, not enough space in neighbourhood schools.
